The 14 days best of Uganda Mobile Safari is an astonishing full service mobile safari giving you an opportunity to gain an insight into Uganda’s wildlife, landscape plus her great flora & fauna not necessarily available on a fly-in safari. The tour takes you through some of best safari destinations in the country as listed below.

The safari will take you to Murchison falls national park which is the oldest & largest national park in Uganda, then continue to Kibale national park probably the park with the highest population of primates in the world & later visit Queen Elizabeth national park to sight a wide diversity of game.

The climax of the safari will be tracking the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable national park, home to half of the remaining giant apes. This authentic safari will finally come to an end with a visit to lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest fresh water lake in Africa, a walking safari in Lake Mburo & Kampala city.

DAY 1:- Entebbe area, Camping

Upon your arrival in Uganda at Entebbe airport, your guide will pick you and give a full safari briefing and take you shopping for your safari drinks then head to your designated campsite.  Depending on your flight details, the first highlight of your safari will be a sunset boat cruise or nature walk & relaxation. Camping will be at Botanical gardens Entebbe at a camp-site with permanent ablutions.

DAY 2:- Entebbe to Murchison falls National park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Wake up early in the morning & grab your first forest breakfast at the camp then embark on a 6hours drive to Murchison falls with a en-route stop over at Zziwa for Rhino tracking. Take a guided nature walk to track the white Rhinos. This ranch is the proud home of the only wild rhinos and the only place where you will be able to rhinos in the wild in Uganda. After rhino trekking return for a picnic lunch in the home of rhinos and then proceed with your journey to Murchison falls national park to your private camping grounds with bush ablutions.

DAY 3:- Game drives & White Nile safari boat cruise

An early morning call from the one of the camp assistant will get up before the sunrise. Grab yourself an early morning bush breakfast at the camp and get ready for a half day game viewing on the northern part of the park. Exploring this largest & oldest national park in Uganda is a breathtaking experience. Plenty of game will be spotted on your game drive among which are oribi, Rothschild giraffe, Elephant, warthog, reedbuck, Lion among others. Return to camp for relaxation, bush lunch & light afternoon lunch as you prepare for the afternoon safari boat cruise on the white Nile. Embark on a safari boat cruise for about 2-3hrs that brings out the spectacular water birds and the best of Murchison falls National park. The cruise takes you to the   base of the falls and gives you a chance to sight Nile Crocodiles, hippos, elephants, water bucks to name a few on the river banks. Later in the evening return to the campsite for dinner and after set off for a 2 hours night game drive.

DAY 4:- Game drives, Safari boat cruise, Top of the falls hike

Rise up before sunrise for your wilderness breakfast at the camp & get ready for a half day game drive along the northern banks of the Nile, explore the park’s superior savannah game viewing in the Buligi area providing the chance to sight lions, Elephants, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, herds of Kobs, to name a few. Return to camp for relaxation, lunch & light afternoon lunch, before embarking on white Nile safari boat cruise with promising wildlife encounters. This 2 hour boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls reveals plenty of wildlife such as hippos, Nile crocodiles & water birds along the river banks. At the bottom of the falls, you will be dropped off at a walking trail to hike up to the top of the falls & transfer you will pick you up at the top of the falls & transfer you to the campsite for dinner & overnight.

DAY 5:- Murchison falls to Kibale forest National park

After an early morning Murchison falls breakfast under the sounds of the thunderous might falls, embark on a long 9hrs drive to Kibale forest. This is not an ordinary journey, it’s a rewarding drive which involves driving through the lush countryside dotted by amazing features of earth movements including the sights of the Albertine rift valley from Butyaba escarpment. The farmed landscapes bring out the typical African villages in Uganda. Lunch will be en-route with light afternoon lunch in Hoima town then proceed with the drive which will see you arrive in Kibale in the late afternoon overlooking the mystical Rwenzori mountains at the campsite with permanent ablution.

DAY 6:- Chimpanzee tracking & Evening nature walk

After breakfast you will be transferred to the briefing point for short briefing on the rules of chimpanzee tracking. Kibale forest is known to be the primate capital because of the greatest variety & highest concentration of primates in Africa. The forest host about 13 primate species  including the chimpanzee. The trek lasts for about 2-3hrs and provides the opportunity to see variety of forest birds, primates, butterflies and great flora & fauna. You then return to the campsite for relaxation & lunch.  Later in the evening head out for a rewarding nature walk in the Bigodi swamp to sight a variety of birds  & monkeys. You will then return to the designated campsite for dinner & overnight.

DAY 7:- Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National park

After your morning breakfast, embark on a 2-3hours drive to Queen Elizabeth national park travelling on the slopes of the Rwenzori mountains. Cross the Equator before reaching the private campsite in Queen Elizabeth. Have your bush lunch and light afternoon lunch whilst watching as your tents are set up on the designated campsite with bush ablutions. After set off for 1hour Katwa explosion crater drive to view the crater lakes in Queen Elizabeth. Your will have the opportunity for some great photos on this scenic drive which will give you most rewarding scenery of the park, craters, Lake Edward and Lake George, Rwenzori mountains to name a few. Later return to your campsite for your dinner and a 2 hours evening game drive in Uganda’s prime game viewing region to stand a chance of nocturnal animals like the bush buck, Lions e.t.c, buffaloes, elephant herds. Then return to campsite for overnight.

DAY 8:- Game drives & Kazinga Channel boat cruise.

Before sunrise, rise up for your bush breakfast at the camp and then go for an early morning game drive in the Kashenyi sector remarkable for it’s great game like Elephants, buffaloes, bush pigs, Uganda Kobs to name a few. Return to campsite for relaxation, bush lunch and light afternoon lunch. Get ready to embark on a safari  boat cruise on Kazinga Channel for 2 hours & then in the late afternoon return to campsite for dinner & get set for a 2hrs night game drive overnight.

DAY 9:- Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

This day wake up with before sunrise & grab a cup of coffee and embark on an early morning game drive and then return in the mid-morning for a bush breakfast as you watch the camp assistants dismantle the tents & you get ready to embark on a drive to Bwindi the home of half of the remaining mountain gorillas through the Ishasha sector. This sector is well known for the beautiful tree climbing lions. There will be a picnic bush lunch with light afternoon lunch en-route & arrive late afternoon to a private campsite with permanent ablutions. Relax around the camp, later dinner will be served & overnight.

DAY 10:- Gorilla trekking

This is a big long waited day when you will come a cross the endangered gentle giants, mountain gorillas that only exist in Uganda, DRC & Rwanda. After an early morning forest breakfast take with you packed lunch & gather at the briefing point then you will later  head to the forest in search of the giant apes. This is one of the best activities that you will never forget and is for 2-8 hrs depending on the movement of the gorillas. It involves hiking descending down the valleys & maneuvering the way through thicket before coming in direct contact with gorillas. One hour is at your disposal to maximize your experience with the gorillas, socialize and gaze at them. The experience is rewarding & breathtaking, Later return to camp for relaxation, dinner & overnight

DAY 11:- Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi

This our last day in the gorilla home “Bwindi”, you will enjoy our forest morning breakfast then travel to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. This drive lasts for about 2-3hrs and you will reach in afternoon, relax, have lunch & you will then embark on a hike through surrounding hills in order to gain a scenic view of this beautiful lake.  The name Bunyonyi in the local language means small birds & the lake was named so because there is a plenty of small birds around the lake,  the  landscape around the lake is made up of steep slopes covered with lush green vegetation protruding from the water’s edge. You can get to sight some of the 7 islands in the lake. The lake is the second deepest lake in Africa and one of the few lakes in the country considered safe to swim as it is bilharzias free. Return to your campsite for relaxation, dinner & overnight.

DAY 12:- Canoeing & transfer to Lake Mburo national park

This morning you wake up grab your self an early morning breakfast and then embark on a canoe experience on lake bunyonyi and explore some of the small islands and birdlife on the lake. This activity last for about 2hrs then later return to the campsite and embark on your 5hrs drive to Lake Mburo National Park, lunch en-route. On arrival enjoy the boat ride on Lake Mburo and get quite close to crocs and hippos. Birdwatchers will enjoy the more than 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo including Papyrus Gonolek, Brown faced Lapwing. Carruther’s Cisticola, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-Faced-Go- Away bird.  Later head to your designated private campsite for dinner & overnight.

DAY 13:- Lake Mburo to Kampala city

After your bush breakfast, proceed for a safari walk under the escort of a ranger guide. The Kopjes are particularly interesting and camouflage kilpspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankore Cattle peaceably. Return to the campsite for lunch which should be taken leisurely enjoying the view of this park. After the bush lunch, drive back to Kampala with a game en-route, stopping at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers en route where you will able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. There will also be time to stop at the equator for photographs. You arrive in Kampala in the early evening at the hotel for dinner & overnight.

DAY 14:- Kampala walking safari

This is our last day on the safari and we get to do a walking safari in Kampala as you do your shopping whilst sighting the city. Later we travel to Entebbe airport depending on your flight details!
