This 12 days Uganda primates & wilderness camping focus on 4 national parks & 1 small fresh water lake with unique sceneries. The safari takes us to Kibale forest national park the primate capital to trek the habituated chimpanzees & also spot various primate species, forest birds.

The tour proceeds to Queen Elizabeth national renowned for it’s diversity of wildlife, birdlife & crater lakes. In this very park you look forward to multiple game drives & a safari boat cruise at Kazinga channel. The climax of the mobile safari will be an encounter with the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable national park and the same safari is blended with a cultural trail with the first people to arrive in Uganda 3000yrs ago.

You will then visit Lake Bunyonyi a lake with 20 islands for a rewarding canoeing experience & hiking the steep terraced hills for a scenic view of the lake. Finally we visit Lake Mburo for an amazing safari boat cruise, bird watching &walking safari.

DAY 1:- Entebbe area, Camping

Upon your arrival in Uganda at Entebbe airport, your guide will pick you and give a full safari briefing and take you shopping for your safari drinks then head to your designated campsite.  Depending on your flight details, the first highlight of your safari will be a sunset boat cruise or nature walk & relaxation. Camping will be Botanical gardens Entebbe at a camp-site with permanent ablutions.

DAY 2:- Entebbe to Kibale National park

Wake up early in the morning & grab your first forest breakfast at the camp then embark on a 5hrs drive heading westwards through Fort Portal town. Lunch will be en-route and arrive in Kibale forest in the early afternoon for a scenic nature walk to sight the beautiful crater lakes in the region and later return to the campsite for dinner & overnight.

DAY 3:- Chimpanzee tracking & Evening nature walk

After breakfast you will be transferred to the briefing point for short briefing on the rules of chimpanzee tracking. Kibale forest is known to be the primate capital because of the greatest variety & highest concentration of primates in Africa. The forest host about 13 primate species  including the chimpanzee. The trek lasts for about 2-3hrs and provides the opportunity to see variety of forest birds, primates, butterflies and great flora & fauna. You then return to the campsite for relaxation & lunch.  Later in the evening head out for a rewarding nature walk in the Bigodi swamp to sight a variety of birds  & monkeys. You will then return to the designated campsite for dinner & overnight.

DAY 4:- Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National park

After your morning breakfast, embark on a 2-3hours drive to Queen Elizabeth national park travelling on the slopes of the Rwenzori mountains. Cross the Equator before reaching the private campsite in Queen Elizabeth. Have your bush lunch and light afternoon lunch whilst watching as your tents are set up on the designated campsite with bush ablutions. After set off for 1hour Katwa explosion crater drive to view the crater lakes in Queen Elizabeth. Your will have the opportunity for some great photos on this scenic drive which will give you most rewarding scenery of the park, craters, Lake Edward and Lake George, Rwenzori mountains to name a few. Later return to your campsite for your dinner and a 2 hours evening game drive in Uganda’s prime game viewing region to stand a chance of nocturnal animals like the bush buck, Lions e.t.c, buffaloes, elephant herds. Then return to campsite for overnight.

DAY 5:- Game drives & Kazinga Channel boat cruise.

Before sunrise, rise up for your bush breakfast at the camp and then go for an early morning game drive in the Kashenyi sector remarkable for it’s great game like Elephants, buffaloes, bush pigs, Uganda Kobs to name a few. Return to campsite for relaxation, bush lunch and light afternoon lunch. Get ready to embark on a safari  boat cruise on Kazinga Channel for 2 hours & then in the late afternoon return to campsite for dinner & get set for a 2hrs night game drive overnight.

DAY 6:- Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

Wake up with a sunrise & have your bush breakfast as you watch the camp assistants dismantle the tents & you get ready to embark on a drive to Bwindi the home of half of the remaining mountain gorillas through the Ishasha sector. This sector is well known for the beautiful tree climbing lions. There will be a picnic bush lunch with light afternoon lunch en-route & arrive late afternoon to a private campsite with permanent ablutions. Relax around the camp, later dinner will be served & overnight.

DAY 7:- Gorilla trekking

This is a big long waited day when you will come a cross the endangered gentle giants, mountain gorillas that only exist in Uganda, DRC & Rwanda. After an early morning forest breakfast take with you packed lunch & gather at the briefing point then you will later  head to the forest in search of the giant apes. This is one of the best activities that you will never forget and is for 2-8 hrs depending on the movement of the gorillas. It involves hiking descending down the valleys & maneuvering the way through thicket before coming in direct contact with gorillas. One hour is at your disposal to maximize your experience with the gorillas, socialize and gaze at them. The experience is rewarding & breathtaking, Later return to camp for relaxation, dinner & overnight

DAY 8:- Batwa cultural trail

This day is a cultural trail in the gorilla home and we get to do a cultural trail. After your forest breakfast head out for a guided 5-6hrs cultural trail through the Batwa community. You will learn their traditional medical plants, sight out the tree house,  their hunting techniques to name a few. The Batwa women will treat you to impressive performance including their ancient dances & songs. It is a moment of wonder exploration into the Batwa people and later return to your campsite for lunch, relaxation, dinner & overnight.

DAY 9:- Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi

This our last day in the gorilla home “Bwindi”, you will enjoy our forest morning breakfast then travel to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. This drive lasts for about 2-3hrs and you will reach in afternoon, relax, have lunch & you will then embark on a hike through surrounding hills in order to gain a scenic view of this beautiful lake.  The name Bunyonyi in the local language means small birds & the lake was named so because there is a plenty of small birds around the lake,  the  landscape around the lake is made up of steep slopes covered with lush green vegetation protruding from the water’s edge. You can get to sight some of the 7 islands in the lake. The lake is the second deepest lake in Africa and one of the few lakes in the country considered safe to swim as it is bilharzias free. Return to your campsite for relaxation, dinner & overnight.

DAY 10:- Canoeing & transfer to Lake Mburo national park

This morning you wake up grab your self an early morning breakfast and then embark on a canoe experience on lake bunyonyi and explore some of the small islands and birdlife on the lake. This activity last for about 2hrs then later return to the campsite and embark on your 5hrs drive to Lake Mburo National Park, lunch en-route. On arrival enjoy the boat ride on Lake Mburo and get quite close to crocs and hippos. Birdwatchers will enjoy the more than 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo including Papyrus Gonolek, Brown faced Lapwing. Carruther’s Cisticola, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-Faced-Go- Away bird.  Later head to your designated private campsite for dinner & overnight.

DAY 11:- Lake Mburo to Kampala city

 After your bush breakfast, proceed for a safari walk under the escort of a ranger guide. The Kopjes are particularly interesting and camouflage kilpspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankore Cattle peaceably. Return to the campsite for lunch which should be taken leisurely enjoying the view of this park. After the bush lunch, drive back to Kampala with a game en-route, stopping at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers en route where you will able to watch the ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. There will also be time to stop at the equator for photographs. You arrive in Kampala in the early evening at the hotel for dinner & overnight.

DAY 12:- Kampala walking safari

This is our last day on the safari and we get to do a walking safari in Kampala as you do your shopping whilst sighting the city. Later we travel to Entebbe airport depending on your flight details!
